The Temerty Medicine Alumni Relations team is currently looking to hire a remote work-study student for the fall-winter program. The Alumni Relations and Events Assistant will provide general administrative support to coordinate alumni relations programming and special events for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s Office of Advancement. As we are working remotely tasks will be assigned and or modified so they can be performed remotely.

Job Description


General administrative support for alumni engagement and special events including:

  • Maintain and update alumni records using online database and excel
  • Support the administration of alumni programming including creating communication materials and preparing meeting documents
  • Maintain calendar of departmental events, as appropriate
  • Assist in sourcing vendors for special events, such as A/V, catering, floral, venue bookings, etc.
  • Conduct telephone follow up with event invitees to confirm attendance
  • Assist in administrative preparation for special events, including invitation mailings, nametag printing/stuffing, etc.
  • Provide assistance on-site during special events, including set-up, registration, clean-up, etc.
  • Record special event outcomes and feedback, including tracking comments, compiling final attendance data, etc.
  • Assist in event follow up (i.e. assisting with merging and mailing of thank you letters, develop photos and send to attendees, send non-attendees event materials)
  • Research vendors, suppliers and venues in Toronto and in prospective regional event areas
  • Compile event collateral material portfolio
  • Other projects, as assigned
