Leo Wan, PhD, CEO Ranomics

Leo Wan is the CEO and co-founder at Ranomics, a functional genomics company providing custom reagents and screening tools for enabling transformative discoveries in synthetic biology and drug discovery. At Ranomics, Leo is leading the charge on building new tools and workflows for making biological discoveries faster and easier. Prior to Ranomics, Leo completed his Ph.D in the Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto, where his work was recognized by multiple awards including the prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship



Dr. Ralph Christian Delos Santos, PhD, Co-Founder BioFect Innovations

Christian is a co-founder of BioFect Innovations—a Toronto-based synthetic biology startup. Christian is an alumnus of Ryerson University where he received his BSc in Biology in 2012. With an inherent curiosity for scientific knowledge and research, Christian then pursued a PhD degree in Molecular Science at Ryerson University, where he studied the molecular basis of ‘endocytosis’—a cellular process by which materials enter the cell. During his graduate studies, Christian developed his skills as a researcher and was inspired to apply his scientific training to real-world problems, co-founding BioFect in 2017. He obtained his PhD in 2018 and is also currently working as a genetics consultant at Lifelabs Genetics.


Dr. Linda Zhao, PhD, Strategic Partnerships Manager at Cyclica Inc.

Linda joined Cyclica as a Solutions Scientist in April 2018 and presently working as a Strategic Partnerships Manager. Cyclica is a Toronto-based biotechnology company that helps drug discovery to become faster, safer, and cheaper by providing scientists with an integrated network of cloud-based and AI-augmented technologies.  Prior to joining Cyclica, Linda was a Brand Ambassador at Adecco working with New England Biolabs for over two years while completing her PhD degree.
Linda received both her H.BSc. (Immunology Specialist) and PhD (Immunology) from the University of Toronto. In her spare time, Linda loves to read and to explore new things.
