Speakers

Elodie Varin, PhD

Elodie joined Six Degrees Medical (SDM) in June 2019 where she currently holds a position of medical writer. Her goal within the company is to help optimizing brand, disease and corporate objectives of global pharmaceutical companies. She works as an active team player to develop scientific and medical content, in order to provide medical communication services, addressed notably to Medical Affairs and Health Care Professionals (HCPs) (meetings, symposia, medical writing, advisory boards, continued medical education, training programs,…).

Jovana Drinjakovic

Jovana Drinjakovic is a science writer focusing on biology, health and medicine. By day, she works as a communications specialist at U of T’s Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research, and occasionally moonlights as a reporter. Her reporting work has appeared in Mosaic Science, The Globe and Mail, National Post, VICE|Motherboard and others. Jovana studied biology at the University of Oxford, earned a PhD from the University of Cambridge and is a former U of T Fellow in Global Journalism. After a decade of working as an experimentalist, and despite an uncanny talent for dissecting the brains of small animals, she decided it was more fun to write about other people’s discoveries.
