Mini-Networking Night focused on careers in scientific and healthcare consulting will feature guests from KPMG, Shift Health, Deloitte, Qral Group, MD+A Health Solutions and Klick Health on April 15th, 2021. Interested in learning more about this career path, join us for an exciting networking night where some of the most prominent leaders in the field will talk about their path to success!
Date: Thursday, April 15th, 2021
Registration: Registration for all students, post-docs and other research trainees at the University of Toronto or the affiliated research institutions will open on Monday, April 5th. Registration for non-members will open on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021.
Time: 6:00 – 7:35 pm (Toronto, ON local time; GMT-5)
Location: online through Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to those registered.

Sherry Khuu, MBA
Sherry is a Healthcare Innovation Consultant with Klick Consulting. She currently works with life science clients to develop innovation frameworks, digital tech, facilitate high value workshops across different therapeutic areas and comprehensive competitive analysis to help clients win the market.
Prior to joining Klick, Sherry managed 150+ healthcare professionals at Classic LifeCare, Western Canada’s largest private homecare agency. During her undergraduate studies, she was President of AIESEC, the world’s largest student-run non-profit organization at the University of Calgary. Sherry holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and an MBA from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.
Firhan Malik, PhD
Firhan Malik is a Team Lead for Qral Group in Knowledge Management, with previous experience in BD&L and Operations in early-stage oncology therapeutics and drug discovery technologies, healthcare M&A advisory and consulting. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a PhD in Physiology in 2014.
Jordana Benamor, MHI
Jordana Benamor is a Health Informatics Consultant with 6 years of health care sector work experience and a Masters of Health Informatics from University of Toronto. Jordana has worked with a variety of clients on engagements that include digital health strategy, technology procurement and healthcare transformation, across Canada and Latin America. In a volunteer capacity, she is also a member of the System Integration Committee at Lumenus to advise the CEO and Board of Directors on how to navigate the Ontario government’s evolving system integration priorities.
Karolina Bidzinski, PhD
Karolina is a Consultant in the Healthcare Solutions, Operations service line at KPMG, Canada, supporting clients in operational excellence transformation for improved organizational effectiveness. Prior to joining KPMG, Karolina executed numerous clinical research projects with academic hospitals, senior medical leaders and primary care providers. She has worked extensively within mental health hospitals as a graduate (MSc and PhD) in Canada, while presenting research outcomes both domestically and internationally. During her tenure at the University of Toronto, Karolina was awarded the CIHR Doctoral Research Award and has over 17 publications to date.
Meghan Wright, PhD
Meghan is an Analyst at Shift Health. She completed her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto. She has worked on a wide range of healthcare and life sciences projects for clients across the globe and in multiple sectors including academia, pharma, and non-profit.
Michael Pryszlak, PhD
Dr. Michael Pryszlak joined Shift Health as an Analyst in 2020 and has supported a diverse set of engagements with clients from multiple sectors, including Janssen, Boehringer-Ingelheim and The Perimeter Institute.
Prior to Shift Health, Michael completed his PhD at the University of Toronto in Molecular Genetics, where he designed and developed an innovative genomics approach that characterized novel driver genes in brain cancer stem cells. While a PhD candidate, he was a scientific consultant for a biotechnology company specializing in AI-augmented drug discovery where he explored strategies on how to overcome challenges in the complex ecosystem of medical regulations and commercialization procedures when repurposing drugs. Michael is also passionate about scientific communication and outreach and has previously worked with the Canadian Cancer Society to educate and excite others about science.
He is an author of several publications in top journals such as Cell Reports and Science.
Ryan Yang, MPH
Ryan Yang is a Manager with KPMG’s Management Consulting specializing in the Healthcare industry. His specialty is supporting clients with post-merger integration and performance improvement. Ryan brings solid knowledge in healthcare systems in Canada and the United States.
Prior to joining KPMG, Ryan worked at EY and Central West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). He provided in-depth analysis to advance health system integration and performance activities.
Serina Cheung, MSc
Serina Cheung is a Consultant at Deloitte where she works on advisory and technology engagements in the healthcare and life sciences space. Prior to Deloitte, Serina graduated from the IMS in 2020 where she investigated hypoxia-induced AR signalling in castrate-resistant prostate cancer. During her time in graduate school, she was involved in GMCA which ultimately led her to pursue a career in consulting.
