What is the purpose?
The goal of the reception is to provide students with a structured and targeted opportunity to network with professionals outside academia in a range of life-science industries.
How does it work?
The event is formatted to include four unique round table sessions which bring together 1 guest and 9 students in an intimate setting, followed by two traditional open networking sessions between all students and guests. Students are able to choose their guests in advance to help facilitate meaningful interactions.
The event consists of:
- 4 X 20 minute round-table interaction session between each guest and students (1:9 ratio)
- 2 X 30-minute open networking sessions
- A light serving of hors-d’oeuvres throughout the evening
Some of the industries typically represented by our guests include: R&D, scientific consulting, management consulting, medical affairs, scientific communication, intellectual property, and biotechnology.
This is a professional event, so we encourage you to dress appropriately (business-casual).
When does it take place?
The Networking Reception will take place on Wednesday, February 26th, 2019 from 6-9 pm at Hart House. Registration opens several weeks before the event. Space is limited so register early to secure your place at the event!
