This week on LSCDS #ScienceNews and #Innovation scientists are working very hard to learn about the Omicron SARS-CoV-2 variant – from its transmissibility, to its ability to avoid the current COVID-19 vaccines.

Finally, in non-COVID related news, astronomers have discovered GJ 367b, a tiny, iron-rich planet which orbits its star in about 8 hours – showcasing the ability of astronomers to find new extreme planets.

Claudia was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. Currently, she is a MSc candidate in the Donna Wall lab at Sick Kids in the Department of Developmental and Stem Cell Biology, working on re-envisioning autologous stem cell transplantation for pediatric solid tumors.
