An annual event connecting academia and industry across the life sciences
Event Overview
Previously ran as Career Day, this is an annual event that brings together undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers with industry partners, government stakeholders, and established academic professionals. The goal of this event is to showcase career opportunities beyond the bench, network with industry professionals, and gain knowledge and skills when preparing for your career post-degree.
In May 2023, the Life Sciences Career Expo (LSCE) took place virtually on Monday, May 1st and Wednesday, May 3rd, and in person at the University of Toronto on Thursday, May 4th. Sessions included a keynote lecture, career panels, professional development workshops, company spotlights, coffee chats with professionals, job simulations, and networking opportunities. To bridge the gap between academia and industry, this expo featured panelists and speakers from all over Canada and provided attendees with the opportunity to network with company representatives and career specialists from different regions.
LSCE 2024 Event Logistics
The Life Sciences Career Development Syndicate (LSCDS), Career Exploration and Education, and the University of Toronto are excited to announce that the Life Sciences Career Expo: Beyond Academic: Exploring Opportunities in Industry! will take place virtually on Tuesday, May 21st and Wednesday, May 22nd, and in person at the University of Toronto on Thursday, May 23rd. Sessions will include a keynote lecture, career panels, professional development workshops, company spotlights, company booths, and networking opportunities. To bridge the gap between academia and industry, this expo will feature panelists and speakers nationwide and internationally and provide attendees with the opportunity to network with company representatives and career specialists from different regions.
