Event Overview
Trainees face barriers competing for industry roles, as those who do not have related experience may be at a disadvantage in applying to industry-related roles. Career development activities play an important role in the path to employment; however, many trainees face barriers to pursuing career development activities.
The ITCS program provides an opportunity to:
Gain practical skills and knowledge valued by pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device companies while in grad school
Gain hands-on experience that can help supplement your job application
Network with peers and professionals

ITCS 2025 Program Schedule

A forum where students can learn more about the program structure and what skills will be developed throughout ITCS. Interested applicants will have an opportunity to network with our industry advisors, who will be present to introduce their roles and experiences through a series of short presentations.

An event where the program and project guidelines are agreed upon by teams. Advisory panels, grouped by sector areas, meet with their teams and begin the process of project development.

Regulatory Affairs + Medical Affairs
This seminar will introduce ITCS Trainees to Regulatory and Medical Affairs. Regulatory Affairs works to advise companies on legislation and regulations regarding products and contacting government & regulatory agencies to obtain marketing authorization. The Medical Affairs sector serves to bridge the medical community (doctors, researchers, patients) and industry.
Business and Market Access + Marketing and Sales
This seminar will introduce ITCS Trainees to Market Access and Marketing with a focus on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. The Market Access sector serves to collect data and analyze how products are used and distributed in the healthcare system. Marketing and Sales is involved with communicating product value to external stakeholders, key opinion leaders, and patient groups.
