Clinical Writer / Editor
The Clinical Writer / Editor will play a pivotal role in supporting the Clinical Lab Manager brand supporting the creative services and editorial departments. The role involves the development and production of creative editorial products including infographics, eBooks, technical articles, and webinars.
This role is a blend of technical writing, editing, content development, program management, and client support.
We are looking for candidates with a science background and/or individuals who have hands-on experience working in the laboratory. This is a Canada-based telecommute position operating during US East Coast business hours.
Responsibilities:
Write persuasive copy generally relating to scientific products and technologies
Develop client sponsored content written for both effective print and digital consumption including articles, eBooks, infographics, advertorials, videos, and other projects
Interview and communicate directly with clients via phone and email to create engaging and innovative content to support the Clinical Lab Manager editorial mission
Adapt writing style and tone to match customer expectations
Manage projects in a changing and deadline-driven environment
Work with and guide designers in our Art and Video Departments to bring written ideas to life
Manage customer programs ensuring key performance metrics are achieved
Optimize customer programs to ensure targets are delivered
Build effective landing pages, analyze success, and optimize SEO
Service/Personal Skills:
Outgoing and service-oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Attention to detail and accuracy. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to set priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be a self-learner able to research and write on a wide range of technical topics. Must be able to work both in a team environment and independently with minimum supervision, and be comfortable communicating with a remote team. Must be Internet savvy and a strong web communicator. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills are required. Should have an eye for detail.
Experience:
1-3 years in science communications; writing, journalism, or similar professional experience
Laboratory/science experience preferred
Any working knowledge of lab instrumentation and equipment or analytical instruments and techniques is a plus
Education:
Completion of a Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in either biology, chemistry, or other related sciences. Graduate degree in a clinical science or related discipline preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in MS Word and MS Outlook
Familiarity with online content creation
Strong writing and editing skills
Outgoing, comfortable on the phone or in a video conference
